Wuhan University of Technology and Shanghai MAS Signed a Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement

On Arial 11th, 2014, Wuhan University of Technology and Shanghai Maritime Safety (MAS) Administration signed the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement between Shanghai Maritime Safety Administration and Wuhan University of Technology. The attending guests included the Vice Presidents of Wuhan University of Technology YAN Xinping and ZHANG Anfu, the Chief of Shanghai MAS XU Guoyi, the Vice Chief of Shanghai MAS LIU Liang, the head of the East China Sea in the Maritime Security Center WANG Hexun and related officials. The Vice President of Wuhan University of Technology ZHANG Anfu and the Vice Chief of Shanghai MAS LIU Liang represented both sides respectively to sign the agreement.

Both sides will base on principles that Wuhan University of Technology and Shanghai MAS will share resources with each other, complement each other’s advantages, devote to transportation development and make progress together, and establish long-termed, comprehensive and close strategic cooperation. The cooperation fields will be focused on four points: the first one is emphasizing the resources sharing which means both sides can share all resources under policies; the second one is holding scientific communications which means both sides use its advantages to make tracking study on the latest International Maritime Organization policies and new tendency of maritime management by various ways such as holding forums, technology exhibitions, academic information exchange meeting and building a technology information platform; the third one is talent training which means Shanghai MAS will provide Wuhan University of Technology with guidance about students practicing, internship and job hunting and Wuhan University of Technology will be the think-tank of Shanghai MAS to help increase professional skills, tackle key technical problems and cultivate talents; the fourth point is having culture cooperation which means both sides jointly hold some culture activities related to maritime, such as celebrate China National Maritime Day , China National Sailors Day and organize sailing summer camps, and positively build a platform for culture sharing, communication and cooperation. 

The successful sign of the agreement will further promote the development of both Wuhan University of Technology and Shanghai MAS and enhance their capability on serving national strategies.
